Streetlights contribute to crime prevention, reduction in the fear of crime, pedestrian safety, and traffic safety. The night shift officers complete a monthly survey of all streetlights in the city, marking those that are inoperable so that repairs can be promptly made. They also make recommendations for installation of streetlights based upon what they see while on duty and suggestions from citizen contacts.
For questions or more information about streetlights, please contact the Willis Police Department at 936-856-4039.
