  • Once a complete application is submitted, building and development permit plan reviews are generally conducted within 30 working days. Trade permits are usually processed within a week, depending on personnel availability.

  • If you think your pet has been impounded you should act immediately. Willis has an interlocal agreement with the City of Conroe. All impounded animals from Willis are transported to the Conroe Animal Shelter located at 407 S. Sgt. Ed Holcomb Blvd, Conroe, TX 77304. Telephone: (936) 522-3550. You should contact us first at (936)856-4611 and give us a description of your pet.

  • Due to the interlocal agreement with the City of Conroe, you will be subject their reclaim fees. Currently they charge $25 for the first day and $10 for each day after. In addition to the reclaim fees you will also most likely receive a citation for animal at large. Citation penalties vary and you may contact Municipal Courts for more information.

  • Street light concerns can be directly reported to Entergy at 1-800-968-8243, Option 4 or by going to the link below and entering in the information, or they can be reported to City Hall where City staff will then relay the information to Entergy for repair. Please be sure and note whether the light is completely out or intermittent and include that information when you report the issue as this will have an impact on how soon the light gets repaired. Street lights that need attention on State Highways, Interstates or Farm to Market Roads are the responsibility of the Texas Department of Transportation and they can be reached at (936)538-3355. Request or installations of new street lights are reviewed and installed on a case by case basis.

  • Mosquito spraying starts in April/May (dependant upon weather) and ending October/November. A contracted pest control company sprays once per week.

Wastewater Systems

  • All sewer stoppages should be reported to the Public Works Department PRIOR to calling a plumber/repair company. The Public Works Department will determine whether it is a public or private problem. If the problem is a private sewer problem, Public Works will notify the property owner to that the problem/issue can be addressed. The City of Willis does not refund plumbing costs due to stop ups.
